The tests also provide their family physician with valuable information about that person’s existing health condition, which allows for the early diagnosis and treatment of any medical problems,” he said. The full blood testing panel consists of tests for coronary disease, diabetes, anemia, kidney disease, liver disease, calcium, chloride, potassium, and sodium. Individuals taking the tests are required to fast, not eating any food or beverages, for 13 hours prior to their scheduled appointment time for the tests. Also available at additional cost are five specialized tests. AMBA requires that a separate physician order must be presented for any of the optional tests, which include Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) test code 5363X for $25.70; Thyroid TSH test code 30163E for $12.00; Vitamin D-25 test code 17306X for $25.00; Hemoglobin A1C test code 496X for $12.00; and Insure Colon Rectal Kit test code 1129X for $20.00.
